Linskill Community Choir

January 2024 UPDATE

Both our choirs are at full capacity at present. However we do have a series of fun singing workshops planned from the Spring 2024.

The workshops will be open to all, suitable for absolute beginners and we would love to see new people there.

We will learn some basic breathing, vocal warm up techniques, singing some quick to learn warm up songs and then two songs with simple harmonies.

The emphasis will be on having fun whilst learning and meeting new people. Dates and further details will be announced here as well as on our social media platforms. Click the links at the bottom of the page to access facebook, instagram and X profiles.

We have performed all over the local area at a wide variety of

events and gained a reputation for our energetic , lively and heartfelt singing of well known, popular songs guaranteed to

get the toes tapping or the tears flowing (in a good way !!)

We are more than a Community Choir , we are a 'choir community' who look out for each other. Our ethos is about bringing joy, friendship and fun through the medium of singing

Our desire is to support our local community, therefore the charity concerts we perfom are always for the wonderful groups who

support the people of North Shields.

Wednesday evenings

The cost of membership to attend choir for a 6 week half term

is £42 (£7 per session)

Our sessions are held in the main hall of the Linskill Centre

on a Monday evening at 7pm (except for bank holidays

and choir term breaks)

The song 'Home' was written about our local area by Raymond Anderson with musical score by Mike Waller. Several local photographers collaborated together to provide images of local scenes to add to the video below...

'Party in the Park'

What at great new event for 2023 this was! presented by the Happiness Company, we joined forces with Can't Sing Choir - North Tyneside and Zumba with Catherine for a wonderful few hours of music and dancing at Northumberland Park. 'A Night at the Musicals'

Our 2023 summer concert was another huge success. Performing to a sold out crowd we sang and danced our way through some of the greatest songs from stage and screen. Our wonderful audience also participated, singing along with us and learning some choreography too. Highlights video is below, check out You Tube for more :)

Christ Church Christmas Carols 2023

We returned to the beautiful venue of Christ Church in North Shields singing some well known festive tunes and a new addition of a song called 'Harbour' The theme of this beautiful song fits really well with the important work that the RNLI do both here locally and nationwide. We were thrilled to hear that a total of £1,240 was raised for Tynemouth RNLI Lifeboats, to find out more about the charity click here
